Solar E-Trike A Zero Emissions Ride
Solar E-Trike A Zero Emissions Ride New York metal sculptor Josh Hadar has created a solar electric trike that's got some kick to it. According to the artist, "The first test ride was a virtual wheelie-fest that left its rider sprawled on the ground." Four 12-volt lead-acid batteries power the 15 horsepower Mars Electric motor which tops out at 45 miles per hour. The batteries are charged by six 125 watt solar panels mounted on the roof of Hadar's studio. A single charge gives the E-Trike a 30-mile range, but Hadar thinks that using a lithium nano-phosphate battery pack could double that distance.
All the speculation is over as the Chevy Volt price has finally been revealed. And at $41,000, the E-REV from GM is not going to be a car for everyone.

The price is not surprising, but it is a bit disappointing. I was hoping that with the lower than expected price tag on the Nissan Leaf, GM would be forced to bring it down to at least the mid $35,000 range. Keeping it under forty thousand would have been something. The Basics

Ferrari's HY-KERS concept 2011

The company yesterday unveiled the Ferrari 599, a 200mph electric hybrid vehicle that aims to cut pollution and fuel consumption while retaining the brand's breathtaking acceleration and performance.

2011 Nissan Altima Sedan Features. The Nissan Altima (pronounced /ˈɔːltɨmə/; Japanese: 日産・アルティマ) is a mid-size automobile manufactured by Nissan, and is arguably a continuation of the Nissan Bluebird line, which began in 1957. It has historically been larger, more powerful, and more luxurious than the Nissan Sentra but less so than the Nissan Maxima. The Altima is available in North America as well as the Middle East. In other markets, Nissan sells a related mid-size sedan called the Nissan Teana, built on the same FF-L platform used by the 2002–2006 Nissan Altima.

As the pump clicked past $20, $30, $40 or even $50, maybe you thought about trading in your car for something that gets better mileage. The Nissan Leaf Does 0-60MPH In Just 7 Seconds
A motor journalist has apparently dropped the clutch (figuratively) in a new Nissan Leaf and reported back with some figures, 0-60mph is a 7 second affair and he managed to get it up to 92mph (on a public road no less!). Both of these stats were set with a passenger in the car meaning that the Leaf might be capable of a little more, but just a smidge.
